PELCO Sample Clamp

The PELCO Sample Clamp is a spring-loaded self-levelling fixture designed for small sample preparation, such as cross-sectional TEM.

For example, during thin film sample preparation, the film must be protected from the grinding and polishing processes.
Traditionally this is achieved by either gluing two specimens together or by affixing the sample to a sacrificial piece of silicon wafer.

The thickness and uniformity of the epoxy at the interface is critical to preparation of high quality samples.
The PELCO Sample Clamp applies a fixed clamping force, assuring even spreading of resin, and can be placed directly on a hotplate for rapid curing of M-Bond or similar epoxy adhesives, allowing rapid production of high quality samples.
