Dual spring-loaded specimen holder for two metallographic mounts 1″ to 1.5″ in diameter.
Two different heights allow for samples up to 0.5″ (12.7mm) or 0.5-1.125″ (12.7-28.6mm). T

he sample is pressed to the cap by the spring, ensuring the polished face of the specimen is flat across the mount.
The removable insert is used for 1″ samples and is removed for larger samples. Ideal for wide area imaging, and stitching images with minimal focus change between stage moves.

Two locations for 12.7 mm pin stubs are included for mounting of analysis standards with the samples.
In order for standards to be at the mounted sample height when using the 0.5-1.125″ cap, a pin stub extender (15318) is needed (not included).

Supplied with a short M4 x 6mm removable pin stub. Fixture dimensions are 4.88 x 2.2″ (124 x 56mm) overall, and 0.975″ (24.8mm) tall with standard caps and 1.475″ (37.5mm) tall with the 15481-4 caps.
